5K for Philippines Flooding 2012

Dear Family and Friends,

Torrential downpours have affected more than 2 MILLION people in the Philippines. Consistent heavy rainfall has left over 100 cities flooded and over 400 thousand people homeless. Evacuations for yet another upcoming storm have begun for several provinces near bodies of water. This catastrophe has claimed 85 deaths and has become a breeding ground for infectious disease and illnesses.

Providing food and shelter to homeless families, rebuilding over one hundred cities and provinces and caring for people who are in poor health require a great deal of funds. This is where we can jump in and take action to help!

On September 8, 2012 I will be running a 5k at the Energizer Night Race in Toronto to help raise funds for the people who have been affected with the flooding in the Philippines. I would love your help in donating to a great cause! I will be taking pledges for the next month and every single penny raised will be donated to the Red Cross Philippines Disaster Management Services.

I can receive your donations personally or electronically via Interac Money Transfer (working on an online pledge donation). A pledge list on my pledge page will be updated regularly to ensure that your donation has been accounted for. At this time, I am not sure if the donation will be tax deductible, however, I can provide a personal receipt if needed.

Please follow the Pledge Page to track the progress of the fundraiser. My personal goal is to raise C$1000 (45,000 Pesos) in donations to give to Red Cross Philippines. However every donation (does not matter big or small) will help those in need!

Thank you for your time and donation!

Sincerely,

Diana Limjoco
